Android 6 marshmallow firmware update for the TX2-R2 android TV is now available for download. TX2-R2 features Cortex A9 ARM processor and Mali-400mp2 graphics processing unit. It is a highly optimized chip that is capable of playing 4K UHD video without problems and has native decoding of H.265 and VP9 codecs among others. It also includes 2GB of RAM on board, 8GB of storage memory, wifi b / g / n (8703BS) and Bluetooth 4.0. At the connectivity level we find 2 USB 2.0 ports, microSD card reader, HDMI 2.0 connector, 10/100 network port and a SPDIF digital audio output.
Download the android 6 marshmallow update from here and store it on your computer. To flash TX2-R2 android TV, you will need to install rockchip driver and for that download RK driver assistant from here. If you get a windows security message, give it the permission to install the driver.
Unzip the ROM file. Then download and start the rockchip batch tool. Tap on the “…” button and browse for the img file which you will find the unzipped folder. Now hold the reset button of your android TV and connect it to the computer. Then press the upgrade button to flash the android 7 marshmallow firmware.
