You can now download a new official firmware dated 23/09/2015 for the CR18 android TV box powered by octa core Rockchip processor. This TV box that comes with RK3368 rockchip CPU can be easily reseted by doing a flashing the official firmware. This firmware is based on Android 5.1 operating system and brings a slew of enhancements and changes over the previous firmware.
You can download the firmware for the CR18 from here. This is only for model with WIFI chip AP6335.
Here is how to flash it. First download drivers and update tools from here. You will need a windows PC and a micro USB cable for flashing. Install the drivers using RK Driver Assistant.
Make sure the CR18 android TV is disconnected. Start the factory tool. It is located in FactoryTool_v1.39\FactoryTool.exe. Click on the firmware button and select the firmware that has IMG extension.
Hold down reset button the CR18 and using the micro USB, connect it to the PC. Now the power cord will detect android TV and install the required drivers. Click on the run button which will start the firmware flashing process. When process completes, button will turn green.
