Ulefone Vienna review (1)

Ulefone Vienna takes exceptional pictures thanks to its whopping thirteen mega pixel camera on the back that has flashlight and autofocus. There is another five megapixel pixel camera on the front that is ideal for taking selfies and video calling. Skype for mobile now supports high definition video calling and it would be a great idea to enjoy crystal clear video calling on the Ulefone Vienna android phone.

The Ulefone Vienna is a world phone packing any and every band possible out there including 2G GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900MHz, 3G: WCDMA 900 / 2100MHz and 4G: FDD-LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600MHz. Business users rejoice as Ulefone Vienna packs built in fingerprint recognition allowing you to add an extra layer of security on the phone. Fingerprint recognition is also faster than entering the secure pin since in this you only need to keep your finger on thru sensor to get to the home screen. Ulefone Vienna review (2)

The Ulefone Vienna is powered by a very powerful octal core processor by Mediate and it is more than enough powerful to run any and every single android app and game out there. So if you are a gamer, you will be hooked since there would no dropped frames – something that is very important in action packed games. The screen too is gorilla glass 3 and should resist most scratches.

This processor is backed by spacious 3GB RAM that is found only in most expensive android phones out there. This means more room for running multiple apps concurrently and higher efficiency. For storage, you get 32GB of onboard flash storage which you can expand using micro SD card slot. But for normal users, 32GB flash storage should be more than enough.

Ulefone Vienna review (3)

Ulefone Vienna comes with infrared port which allows you to control any electrical appliance that makes use of infrared remote. This includes most televisions, air conditioners, DVD players and so on. All of these features are very power hungry and chew up a lot of power. The company behind Ulefone Vienna has therefore equipped the smartphone with beefy 3250 mAh battery that holds enough juice to last you all day and more.

If you’re a heavy user, you will be glad to know that the Ulefone Vienna supports quick charging that tips off the battery fairly quickly.

Verdict – we are sure you would never go wrong with the Ulefone Vienna. It has all the ingredients of what a power user needs and more. That said, it would be perfectly for the normal, casual users. They will adore its simplicity, design and battery life.

Xiaomi Mi4i has great specs but the software leaves a lot to be desired

Xiaomi Mi4i is the latest android phone to be launched in the market of oversatured smartphones. Folks at Xiaomi are certainly one of the most interesting OEMs out there as it is constantly churning out phones with great built quality and specifications at prices that are 50 percent of the competition. For instance, the Xiaomi Mi4i has specifications that are even better than the Samsung Galaxy S6 and it costs almost one-fourth of latter.

The Xiaomi Mi4i is currently being offered by a UK smartphone warehouse gearbest.com for mere 229 dollars which means the customer can get their hands on the phone within few days after placing the order. You can find listing of Xiaomi Mi4i at gearbest.com here.

The Xiaomi Mi4i built quality is great for the price you are paying. While it is plastic, it is made of really high quality plastic, at par with the one used on the LG G4 which is most admirable flagship phone of 2015. The only thing that we did not like were its buttons that felt a tad too cheap for our taste. They were easy to scratch too. Another weird glitch in the hardware is its dedicated menu button. There is nothing in the user interface of Xiaomi Mi4i that makes use of that hardware menu button.

The back of the Xiaomi Mi4i is not user removable but Hugo Barra who is the Vice President of Xiomi disassembled the phone within minutes using a simple Phillips screwdriver.

Coming to its software, the Xiaomi Mi4i runs MIUI 6 which is a very powerful user interface that makes the android prettier than what it actually is. We were told that MIUI 6 is actually based on Android 4.4 kitkat. This means that there are no Chrome tabs, no document centric multitasking and other nifty features that one finds in Android 5 lollipop. However it does not disappoint us on the performance front, scoring 734 in Geekbench and 14.0 T-Rex in GFXbench 3.0 software. You can buy Android phones and many other gadgets at gearbest.com

Pros – Great value for money; great build quality; quick charge function and big battery

Cons – MIUI 6 isn’t based on Lollipop; hardware menu buttons wasn’t required; not available in many countries.
