Archos to shake hands with Android : launching an Android powered Tablet in September

We have had news about Android powered Tablet PC in the making. But, this time the news comes from Archos IMT. Archos is supposedly working on an Android powered Tablet PC, to be launched soon.

Tony Limrick, Managing Director of Archos Northern Europe, made this announcement at an event in London, and also asked the viewers to keep September 15 open in their calendar. So, is it supposed to be its launch day ? Possible.

The tablet seems to have quite impressive features. No clue was given by Tony Limrick on the day of the announcement, but a couple of months back, the possible features of the device were let out :

  • 5-inch display
  • 7.2Mb/s HSDPA
  • 2Mb/s HSUPA
  • 500GB of storage
  • Ability to play HD movies
  • Only 10mm thick
  • 7 hours of video playback time
  • 800MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 3440 processor described as “laptop-like”

If these specs are to be believed, then we have a really great device in the making. But, what would be the price of such an impressive device ? Are u ready to shell out a fortune for a tablet PC ?
