Roku Streaming Stick version 2016 is here and it is up for pre order today for a 50 dollar price tag. At 50 dollars, it promises to stream all of your content wirelessly from behind your television but if you are looking to stream 4k content, you will be disappointed. Read this full Roku Streaming Stick review to find out more about it. This is how the packaging looks like.
Roku Streaming Stick streaming capabilities are limited to 1080p which would not bother anyone who are satisfied with their 1080p television sets. It comes in two colors, blue and black but since these are bound to get dirty, I suggest going with the black one.
Compared to the outgoing Roku Streaming Stick model, it comes with faster Wi-Fi thanks to the dual band 802.11 ac wireless radio instead of 802.11g radio so now you can enjoy better and more reliable streaming experience on video streaming sites like Vimeo and YouTube.
The processor in Roku Streaming Stick 2016 has also been updated and the user interface feels a lot more fluid than before. That said, the processor is still very power efficient consuming less than 3W (typical) when streaming HD video. If you reside in Europe, you will have to shell out about 55 euro.
The box includes Roku Streaming Stick, Point-anywhere RF remote with channel shortcut buttons, 2 AAA batteries (for remote), USB power cable + power adapter, Get Started guide and some Special content offers. To use it, you will need an HDTV with HDMI output, a broadband internet connection, wireless router and an optional credit card for making payments for paid programs.
At .5 x 3.3 x .8 inches and 0.6 ounces, the new Roku Streaming Stick won our heart and it would win yours too. Buy one today.
