Wish to have a look at how an On-Screen keyboard would look and work on the Android 1.5 aka cupcake ? Here’s a picture of the software keyboard on the home screen.
With Android 1.5, a new feature called Input Method Framework (IMF) has been introduced which provides scope for developing input methods such as software keyboard. It would facilitate the development of hand-writing recognizers, and hard keyboard translators apart from software keyboard. This development could lead to Android devices without hardware keyboard to hit the market in the future.
The soft keyboard would be placed at the bottom of the screen, over the application’s window. The size of the application window would be adjusted accordingly, to avoid any problems in viewing the application.
